About the Project
Caribbean Faces is an art initiative that challenges mental health stigma and amplifies the voices of the Caribbean diaspora, specifically focusing on Virgin Islanders. Through portraits and personal narratives, this project seeks to explore the rich, complex experiences of mental health in the Caribbean.
Our mission is to honor the stories that shape our collective identity while fostering a deeper understanding of the unique challenges our communities face. By weaving together the art of photography with heartfelt interviews, Caribbean Faces shines a light on the often untold mental health journeys of everyday people.

The project, rooted in Caribbean resilience and resistance, serves as both an artistic and advocacy platform. It encourages open dialogue around mental health, ultimately aiming to break down barriers and reshape perceptions. Each portrait is a reflection of personal strength, vulnerability, and the ongoing journey toward mental well-being.Our hope is that this project will not only increase mental health awareness but also inspire action toward a future where stigma no longer has a place in our community.
